GCU Racing announce partnership with RS Machinery and Morgan Rushworth

A huge thank you to RS Machinery & Morgan Rushworth!

GCU Racing would like to extend our sincere thanks to RS Machinery and Morgan Rushworth for their incredible support as we gear up for Formula Student UK 2025.

RS Machinery has been a valued partner of the team for over two years, playing a crucial role in the manufacturing of our chassis and suspension at their Glasgow application centre.

In the past, we manually notched every tube for our steel spaceframe—an imprecise and time-consuming process that took up to four weeks. Thanks to RS and their state-of-the-art Morgan Rushworth plasma cutting and notching equipment, we now produce perfectly CAD-matched tubes in a fraction of the time. These machines, which RS use as live demonstrators for their clients, have been instrumental in showcasing their capabilities while directly supporting our build.

RS also laser-cut tabs and brackets for our suspension and other systems—components we previously hand-cut. Their support has not only enhanced our car’s performance but also provided our team with hands-on experience using industry-leading machinery, boosting our skills and employability.
