GCU Racing renew sponsorship with Eplan

GCU Racing is proud to announce our sponsorship renewal with Eplan for the 2026 season. 

Eplan is a software and service solutions company that specialises in electrical, automation and mechatronic engineering. 

At GCU Racing, we use Eplan’s world-leading design software to assist in the design of our wiring harness for the car. Using the software, we can import an accurate 3D model of our car to create a realistic design of our harness, which helps determinethe correct length, wire positioning, and wire type to use. 

Along with the creation of the wiring harness, it also gives us the ability to then use the information generated to produce an accurate bill of materials. This allows us to keep a better track of what we have spent and the materials used. 

Not only does Eplan allow us to make accurate 3D designs of our harness, but it also allows us to generate a 2D wiring diagram and appropriate design documents. 

GCU Racing’s electrical sub-team head, Rhys Hood, said: 

“EPLAN is a brilliant software platform that allows us to thoroughly plan and design our larger wiring harness. EPLAN allows us to efficiently route the harness within a 3D model, and plan what wires are being used, what wires are being bundled together and ensure smooth integration with the mechanical side. EPLAN also helps us to create layup boards to speed up manufacturing by including accurate wiring lengths. Overall, EPLAN is a brilliant software, and we're excited to be working with them again.”
